描述

丙酮酸脫氫酶和甘氨酸脫羧酶等酶復合物的活性所需的抗氧化劑和輔酶。外源硫辛酸在細胞內被兩種或多種酶還原。然后，還原形式通過直接清除自由基、循環其他抗氧化劑、增加谷胱甘肽合成和調節轉錄因子活性，特別是 NF-κB 的活性來影響許多細胞過程。降低巨噬細胞對髓磷脂的吞噬作用。
